Senior AV Technician (Corporate Events)
London, United Kingdom
So you’re an AV technician. That seems to be what google and job boards and most corporate agencies bottle you into when you list your experience and the qualifications you’ve grafted through. You wield power and confidence and dexterity like a digital demigod, and they pigeonhole you in the back of the room.
In some ways, it’s comforting. It’s just you, your devices and a few reliable cohorts manning the show from the darkness without too many outside interruptions (helicopter customers aside). But living in the shadows shouldn’t translate to a salary in the gutter and ‘perks’ that are out of sight and out of mind.
We believe in calling a spade a spade. The job we’re advertising here may be with a standout client – a powerhouse in the arena of award-winning media services and AV strategy in the educational field, but the lives you help shape and impact will likely never know who you are. They will, however, be forever impacted by the work you do – using technical expertise and expert troubleshooting to support meetings, conferences and webinars streamed across the globe, and pulling these off as smoothly as possible.
As well as some content creation and packaging, you will need to be well-versed in audio, visual, video, lighting and basic IT functions. Self-motivated and intrinsically curious, caring about the smartest and sharpest way of doing things will help this position hone and develop those keen instincts you have into some venerable technical savvy. And with a team of equally talented and scrappy underlings beneath you, it’ll be on your shoulders to mould them into the strategic, intuitive and highly-competent coworkers you need to take on whatever your customers throw at you.
